Manufacturing location dynamics are perpetually shifting as larger trends in supply-chain logistics, global production wages, process automation (robotics), and trade policy take shape here in the US and across the globe.
WDGC has been helping our corporate clients navigate these tumultuous waters since the 1970s, resulting in significant improvements in talent acquisition, better access to customers, lower operating costs, and enhanced disaster risk avoidance. Whether searching for industrial locations on-shore, near-shore, and/or off-shore, our professionals have the experience and expertise to find you the optimal location that suits your operating needs regardless of industry or function.
Given the capital intensive nature of constructing or retrofitting large production facilities, economic incentives may be required to offset some of these upfront costs and tend to play an elevated role in these location decisions. WDGC’s incentives practice will seamlessly integrate this effort into our site selection analysis thus providing maximum leverage for our clients while shortening the length of the project.
The manufacturing site selection process can be completed in as few as 3-4 months. However added time may be desired in more complex scenarios where multiple rounds of due diligent site visits are required before ultimately making a location decision.
Once final real estate and incentive negotiations are completed the site programming, building design/approvals and construction process can extend the project timeline out to 18 months or more depending on project size.
For this reason it is encouraged to begin the site selection process as early as possible to maximize study results. WDGC is ready to assist in facilitating preliminary or feasibility-level discussions to get you started on the right track today!
